Retractable Awnings in Evansville, IN
A retractable awning is one of the quickest ways to make a patio usable in an Evansville summer. Push a button, and twelve to twenty feet of shade rolls out over the concrete. Push it again and the awning folds back tight against the house, so nothing is sitting out in a January ice storm.
All Weather Products is an authorized Eclipse dealer. Eclipse has been building retractable awnings since 2002. We are a manufacturer ourselves, so we will tell you plainly what a retractable awning does well and where an aluminum patio cover would serve you better.
The Eclipse Retractable Awning Line
Four models, each built for a different situation:
Eclipse Premier. The heavy-duty lateral arm awning. The widest projections in the line. Watch the Premier video.
Total Eclipse. A fully enclosed cassette. When the awning is retracted, the fabric and the arms are sealed inside the housing, out of the weather entirely. Watch the Total Eclipse video.
Solar Eclipse. Solar powered, so there is no wiring to run out to the wall. Watch the Solar Eclipse video.
Eclipse E-Zip retractable screens. Not an awning but the same family: a motorized screen that drops vertically to close in a porch opening, a pergola side, or a garage door. We order these in 5 inch cassettes. Watch the E-Zip video.

Motors, Remotes and Wind Sensors
Eclipse retractable awnings are available motorized, running off a handheld remote, or with a manual crank if you would rather not run power out to the wall. A wind sensor is worth asking about: it retracts the awning on its own when the wind picks up, which matters here, because the thing that ruins a retractable awning is being left extended in a storm nobody was home for.
Aluminum Awnings We Build Ourselves
Not every awning should be fabric. For a door, a window, or a walkway where you want permanent cover and nothing to operate, we fabricate aluminum awnings and door hoods in the Evansville shop out of the same extrusions we use for patio covers. They do not move, they do not need power, and there is nothing to retract before winter.
If you are choosing between the two, the question is usually how often you actually want the shade. Over a patio you use on summer evenings, retractable wins. Over a back door that takes weather year-round, aluminum wins.
Patio Awning or Patio Cover?
People searching for a patio awning in Evansville often end up wanting a patio cover instead, and sometimes the other way around. The short version: an awning is fabric that retracts and gives you sun when you want it. A patio cover is a permanent insulated or non-insulated aluminum roof on posts, and it can be screened or glassed in later to become a screen room or a three season room. We sell all of it, so there is no reason for us to steer you to the wrong one.
Fabric and Motor Service
Awning fabric has a service life. So do motors. Eclipse builds these units so both can be replaced, and as an Eclipse dealer we can order the parts. Call with the brand and the approximate width and we will tell you honestly whether it is work we can take on.

Common Questions
What is the difference between a retractable awning and an aluminum patio cover?
A retractable awning is fabric on a motorized or hand-crank arm that extends when you want shade and rolls back against the house when you do not. An aluminum patio cover is a permanent roof on posts. The awning gives you the choice; the patio cover gives you year-round protection.
Are the awnings motorized?
They can be. Eclipse retractable awnings are available with motors and remotes, and a wind sensor can retract the awning automatically in gusty weather. Manual crank models are also available.
Do you service retractable awnings you did not sell?
Sometimes. Eclipse builds these units so the fabric and the motor can be replaced, and as an Eclipse dealer we can order those parts. Call (812) 867-6403 with the brand and roughly how wide the awning is.
